So yesterday it was decided a prominent football quarterback was not going to be charged with rape. Why? because the Florida state prosecutor decided there was not enough evidence. What is rape? Non-Consensual Sex. This can result if a person is underage or unable to make decisions, like if they are drugged or inebriated. The victim was heavily intoxicated at the time of the rape, The detectives say that when she called in to report the rape she was unable to determine her location and it was hard to understand. Does this sound like someone who can consent to sex? No! Many rape cases are hard to try because there is no actual evidence. However, in this case their was DNA found that matched James Winston. Supporters of Winston claim she was trying to hinder FSU’s efforts to win, but the rape was reported a year ago; this was before FSU had become wildly successful; if she wanted to hurt the team she would have reported the rape after the season started, so the team would have more trouble replacing him. The complete ignorance used in analyzing the evidence and deeming it unsubstantial pales into the treatment of the case by both law enforcement and the general public. The case was reported a year ago, but no action was taken because a police officer placed the file as an “inactive” case even though the victim was in contact with the police and ready to pursue charges. In local community, the girl is ridiculed or the incident is ignored. The victim has had to leave FSU because of the harassment she faced. I am a Tallahassee resident and have noticed that most of the general public goes on blindly supporting FSU and James Winston. I believe in the idea that a suspect is innocent until proven guilty, but this girl will not even have a chance to try her case as one of rape. The state prosecutor’s dismissal of the case doesn’t give her a chance. She has no court case and so even though its a completely biased decision it cannot be appealed because it s technically not a case. I just don’t understand why no one is doing anything about it and I don’t no how to do anything about it.

OH MY GOD
Portuguese designer Susana Soares has developed a device for detecting cancer and other serious diseases using trained bees. The bees are placed in a glass chamber into which the patient exhales; the bees fly into a smaller secondary chamber if they detect cancer.
Scientists have found that honey bees - Apis mellifera - have an extraordinary sense of smell that is more acute than that of a sniffer dog and can detect airborne molecules in the parts-per-trillion range.
Bees can be trained to detect specific chemical odours, including the biomarkers associated with diseases such as tuberculosis, lung, skin and pancreatic cancer.
FUCKING SAVE THE BEES THEYRE MIRACLE WORKERS OK
I loved the face so much I made reaction gifs, so have fun.

A few weeks later I was in Paris at a Givenchy fashion show where the most exquisite garments cantered by on underfed, well-bred clothes horses. The spectacle was immaculate, smoke-filled bubbles burst on to the runway. To be here in this gleaming sophistication was heaven. Here starvation is a tool to achieve the perfect perpendicular pelvis.
Now, I bow to no one in my appreciation of female beauty and fancy clobber but I could not wrench the phantom of those children from my mind, in this moment I felt the integration; that the price of this decadence was their degradation. That these are not dislocated ideas but the two extremes are absolutely interdependent. The price of privilege is poverty. David Cameron said in his conference speech that profit is “not a dirty word”. Profit is the most profane word we have. In its pursuit we have forgotten that while individual interests are being met, we as a whole are being annihilated. The reality, when not fragmented through the corrupting lens of elitism, is we are all on one planet.
To have such suffering adjacent to such excess is akin to marvelling at an incomparable beauty, whose face is the radiant epitome of celestial symmetry, and ignoring, half a yard lower down, her abdomen, cancerous, weeping and carbuncled. “Keep looking at the face, put a handbag over those tumours. Strike a pose. Come on, Vogue.”
